Rachel & Michael { Downtown Charleston Engagement }

Over the holidays, Shannon had the privilege of capturing some romantic downtown Charleston engagement portraits and we’re elated to share some of our favorites with you today! Charleston at Christmastime is simply enchanting, and Shannon chose locations capturing that magic and fit the personalities of Rachel and Michael. The day began with some coffee at local cafe Kudu. Rachel was festive in her cranberry red skirt and white lace blouse. We love her fashionable hat that complimented the color of Michael’s sports coat. Michael’s baby blue button up and blue slacks paired with brown leather belt and boots are fitting for the Charleston casual style. The vivid colors in their ensembles perfectly reflected the holiday palette around Downtown Charleston and Marion Square.

The moments captured in Kudu were lovely and romantic, offering an intimate candid set of photos. Holding on to one another in front of an ivy wall in Kudu’s courtyard, the couple looked wistfully in love.  Afterwards, Shannon took them for a stroll through nearby streets and managed to capture some of the natural essence of Charleston in her photographs. As the evening chill set in, Michael offered Rachel his coat as they walked through Marion Square. The Square’s trees were adorned with Christmas lights, providing a whimsical ambient glow. The romantic backdrop was perfect for a few candid portraits, and a stolen kiss. The duo finished the evening on the porch of Kudu. With Rachel sitting on the bannister and Michael by her side – it’s a lovely end to their beautiful portraits.

We here at Studio Adele would like to say thank you again for choosing us to be a part of your engagement and wish you both nothing but the best in the years to come!

  • Rachel - Thank you so much for capturing these moments for us! Shannon, you were absolutely wonderful. I am not very confident in front of the camera but you made both of us so comfortable. Everything just flowed so naturally. Again, thank you for this…they came out better than I could’ve ever imagined! 🙂ReplyCancel
