Steeped in southern charm and featuring one of Charleston’s most gorgeous venues, a River House at Lowndes Grove wedding is ALWAYS an amazing day. For Krystal and Kevin, it was the rustic dream they built from the ground up, and Rachel was on-hand for every breathtaking moment. The day began with the bridal party preparing Krystal for the ceremony. The bride-to-be was all smiles, looking amazing in her lace gown with silver beaded sash at the midriff. Silvery blue Badgley Mischka heels were the perfect compliment and rounded out her ensemble beautifully.
Decked out in a blue suit with razor thin lapels and a mint green bow tie and vest combination, Kevin was a heartbreaker standing beneath the live oaks by the Ashley River. Hurricane lanterns hung by linens from the branches above, swaying gently in the breeze. The arrival of the flower girls brought a few tears and then Krystal brought a few more as she met Kevin in front of their family and friends. With a gorgeous marsh as a backdrop, the duo exchanged vows and became newlyweds to the elation of all.
While everyone headed back to the house for some delectable goodies, Krystal and Kevin escaped with Rachel for newlywed portraits. Beneath Spanish moss they held onto one another and shared a few laughs on an old dock overlooking the water. Their time away from family didn’t last too long, however, as they were itching to get back with everyone!
We adore weddings with their own distinct flavor – but this particular wedding had oodles of unique details that we’re still talking about! The rustic feel could be found in everything, from a wooden sign greeting arrivals at the ceremony to the votives and lanterns dotted across the tables. The custom games were a fantastic touch with monogrammed Jenga and Cornhole – popular activities for folks looking for a little playful competition. But our favorite were the placeholders – slices of wood with guests’ names burned into them. Resting atop baby blue napkins, they were the perfect touch for the beautiful atmosphere.
And our beautiful couple and their guests partied long after the sun went down, dancing and dining to their heart’s content before finding new adventures in the night.
Thank you both so much for bringing us along for this beautiful day. We wish you all the best as you move forward together. Congratulations again!
