With numerous beautiful plantations and pristine gardens, Charleston’s a dream location for an outdoor wedding. A recent McLeod Plantation wedding showcased lovely views of idyllic Wappoo Creek and grounds strewn with giant oaks. Haley met up with Katherine as the bride-to-be was hanging with her bridesmaids, getting dressed up for her special day. She was radiant in her off-the-shoulder gown with lace overlay. Pretty Jack Rogers sandals and a lovely earrings and necklace set rounded her gorgeous ensemble. She met with Matthew by the creek side for a romantic first look. Matthew was very handsome in his slate grey suit with baby blue tie, complete with comfy sneakers for the day’s festivities. They joined their wedding party for a few photos by a huge oak before everyone prepared for the ceremony.
The plantation house was the perfect backdrop for the couple’s nuptials. The warm day was punctuated by a cool breeze rolling off of the water, sending a whisper through the leaves above. Columns in the background framed a wooden altar with a beautiful cross, clover and ivory floral arrangement. The ceremony featured several speakers sharing favorite passages and words of wisdom and hope. Then, after their vows were shared and a tear or two shed, the duo shared a kiss, and made everything official! Before they could celebrate with family, Haley whisked them away for newlywed portraits in the fading sunlight. Surrounded by the oaks and the hanging moss, they held onto one another and took in the moment. It was too perfect.
After mingling for cocktail hour near the plantation house, guests traveled to The Barrel to continue the celebration. Cafe lights cast a romantic glow on the guests gathered below. Warm light flickered in glass candle holders atop rustic wood tables, surrounded by blue hydrangea and white roses. As darkness fell, the party kicked into high gear. Soon, the newlyweds were ready to face the night and so they stole away beneath a shower of sparklers, itching to find that next adventure.
Thank you so much for choosing us to capture your beautiful wedding. We had so much fun getting to know you and your families and wish you all the best in the years to come. Congratulations again!
