Meredith recently photographed a beautiful, rustic Magnolia Plantation wedding and we’re very excited to share her experience with you today. Featuring gorgeous gardens and endless southern charm, Magnolia Plantation is one of Charleston’s iconic wedding venues and was perfect for the classy, elegant affair Jessica and Ryan wanted their wedding to be. Meeting in high school and reconnecting years later, Jessica and Ryan are two sides of the same coin, and their differing personalities bring out the best in one another. They wanted their wedding to be a celebration of them as a couple and it was ever so lovely. Meredith caught up with the bridal party right before the ceremony and got to see Jessica’s gorgeous bridal ensemble. Her strapless lace embroidered gown was complimented by an elegant veil and a beautiful purple and white bouquet.
On a dock overlooking the Ashley River’s marshland, Ryan waited patiently. Decked out in grey slacks and vest with a blue striped tie, he was the epitome of cool despite Charleston’s summer heat. After a beautiful ceremony in front of the lazy river, the two shared a kiss with Ryan’s fist triumphantly in the air. The duo joined their wedding parties for a few portraits walking beneath the hanging moss and aged oaks before setting off to explore the gardens on their own. They looked so wonderful on the famous white bridge across Magnolia’s pond with the ancient trees reflected in the still water. We love their dance beneath the avenue of oaks – it was a beautiful moment away from the party where they could just be with each other. Their smiles would light up any room.
Back in the plantation’s carriage house, the reception was set up and ready to go. The elegant white cotton and candles looked beautiful beneath the rich exposed wood of the carriage house. The wide windows provided ample natural light and set the entire room aglow. When the wedding party arrived, it was time to party! The duo shared their first dance to Rob Lutes’ rendition of the Otis Redding classic “That’s How Strong My Love Is.” In each others arms, the rest of the world melted away and it was again just them – as they had intended all along.
Congratulations again on your beautiful day and thank you so much for allowing us to take part in the celebration. We wish you both nothing but the best as you continue on in this life hand in hand.
